What it measures 2 markers
TPO Antibodies (Thyroid Peroxidase)
Blood (SST)

Present in the majority of Hashimoto's cases and some Graves' cases. Elevated TPO indicates immune activity against the enzyme that makes thyroid hormone. Often elevated years before TSH shifts.

Reference range: Under 35 kIU/L

Tg Antibodies (Thyroglobulin)
Blood (SST)

Less sensitive than TPO but adds specificity. Elevated Tg antibodies with normal TPO can indicate early autoimmune activity or confound thyroglobulin tumour marker testing in thyroid cancer monitoring.

Reference range: Under 40 kU/L
