Total circulating cholesterol. A single number without context, so read alongside HDL and triglycerides.
Reference range: Under 5.5 mmol/L
The fraction most closely linked with arterial plaque when oxidised or particle size is small. High LDL alone is not the full picture, but persistently elevated LDL with high triglycerides is a metabolic signal.
Reference range: Under 3.0 mmol/L
The protective fraction. Low HDL is a common marker in insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. Responds to exercise, olive oil and omega 3 intake.
Reference range: Above 1.0 mmol/L (male), 1.3 (female)
The most sugar sensitive marker on the panel. Elevated triglycerides nearly always reflect excess dietary carbohydrate or alcohol. Often the first marker to improve on a metabolic protocol.
Reference range: Under 1.7 mmol/L
A better risk indicator than total cholesterol on its own. Targets under 3.5 are common in functional medicine practice.
Reference range: Under 4.5

Patients following practitioner-designed protocols, sharing their outcomes in their own words.
"This was the first time someone showed me what was happening and what to do about it. "
"My ferritin had been low-normal for three years. The protocol made a real difference within six weeks."
"Someone finally put all the pieces together. Clear, specific and actually useful."
