Telomere biological age test
Measure biological ageing at the cellular level
Test processed by NutriPath (Test Code 1602)
Measures average telomere length as a marker of cellular ageing and biological age.
Telomeres are protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that shorten with each cell division, contributing to cellular ageing. Shorter telomeres are associated with biological ageing and age-related conditions, while chronic inflammation, excess weight and mitochondrial dysfunction can accelerate shortening. Measuring telomere length provides insight into biological ageing and a baseline against which lifestyle and therapy changes can be tracked over time. A blood test collected through any referral centre.
